Some Background Information about us:
Export Boxing & Crating, Inc.’s main location is at Eighteen Allegheny Square,
Glassport Industrial Park, Glassport, Pennsylvania. 
Our plant is conveniently located approximately 8
miles south of Pittsburgh, situated along the Mon River with easy access to several
major highways.
We have been in business since 1977 and incorporated in 1979.
Our years of experience has gained us the expertise in handling, packing
and transporting equipment for overseas or domestic shipments.
The building is equipped with overhead
cranes for handling heavy bulky equipment, 
 forklifts and
loading docks for moving materials in or out and extra large doors to allow
for ocean containers or oversized equipment to be packed or stored inside our warehouse.
In addition to our packaging services, our location also offers
space for consolidation and storage of customer’s equipment in an insured,
secured location.
 Our primary service is manufacturing wooden shipping boxes, skids and
crates for protecting equipment during transit.
Items we have handled vary greatly, from delicate electrical components
to 110 Ton Motor.
At customer’s request, we will pack
equipment at their location or transport to our plant for consolidation, preparation
and packing.
An example of work performed on location is the dismantling
and packing of the Copperweld Mill in Glassport, Pennsylvania. (Material
boxed for domestic shipment and other for exporting) Another would be, the rigging,
dismantling and boxing of the chandelier and all other contents of the Syria
Mosque, Oakland, Pennsylvania and transporting to a storage location.
An additional illustration of our
capabilities was the packing of a 800 foot strip furnace  for Allegheny Ludlum,
Vandergrift, Pennsylvania and recently packing equipment at Signode Steel, Inc. Weirton,
West Virginia into ocean containers, shipping boxes or loaded onto Flat racks
for shipment to Australia and Brazil, other material, not ready for shipment
was transported to our location for storage.
Wooden boxes and crates are constructed per customer’s
specifications or in many situations; we custom design the box to suit
equipment.
Whether equipment is boxed, crated,
skidded or place in a container; equipment is blocked, braced, bolted, banded and shrink
wrapped, bagged, or wrapped in waterproof paper to ensure protection during transit.
All machine surfaces are coated to prevent rust or corrosion and Desiccant
is added for moisture protection.
Other
services provided include packing lists, documentation, bills of lading,
shipping and stencil marks and arranging for transportation to
customer’s port of choice.
